We are delighted to announce the Padma Shree Prof. Anvita Abbi Award for the Best Paper on Endangered and Inadequately Documented Languages. This prestigious award aims to recognize and celebrate outstanding research contributions in the field of endangered and inadequately documented languages. The award honours the remarkable legacy of Padma Shree Prof. Anvita Abbi, a trailblazing linguist known for her pioneering work in documenting and preserving endangered languages.

Eligibility

Papers must focus on endangered or inadequately documented languages, addressing linguistic, sociocultural, or interdisciplinary aspects.

Submissions must be original research papers by young scholars submitted for presentation during ELKL conference.

Submitter must be the member of SEL

Award Details

The winning paper will be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5000.00.

The author(s) will receive a certificate of recognition.

The winning paper will be published in our bilingual, biannual e-journal Vaak Manthan.

Submission Guidelines

Submissions should include a copy the paper and a brief cover letter outlining its significance and relevance to the award criteria.

Submissions can be done throughout the year.

Results will be announced during the ELKL conference.
