The SEL team conducted a four-day training session from August 1-4, 2024, at the Lok Kala aur Boli Vikas Akademi in Bhopal. The training focused on data collection methodologies for non-linguist language workers. Key topics included informant selection, data collection and recording, data transfer, file naming, IPA transcription, and uploading data to a drive. In the first phase, participants were taught these processes in detail. In the second phase, they applied their knowledge by collecting a Swadesh 100-word list from native speakers of five language communities—Bediya, Banjara, Kuchbandiya, Luhadi, and Pardhi—successfully completing the practical work.
