A one day Awadhi Awareness Program was organised by SEL at Gyandeep Girls College, Pandeypur on 15th November 2015.The program started with prayer presented by the students of the college. Mr Abhay Bajapai, the manager of the college welcomed the SEL team and introduced them to the teachers and the students.

The SEL team interacted with the audience and told them about the importance of mother tongue. We are living in a multilingual society but the point of concern is that in present era of globalization other dominant languages are influencing our Mother tongues. People have stopped using a culturally rich language like Awadhi. Dr. Vishnu Singh, Secretary of the society informed the audience about the objectives of the SEL.

The volunteer group then presented a small play titled ‘Facebook ka Jhataka’ in Awadhi. It was appreciated by the students, with most of them coming forward to show their fluency in Awadhi.
