


To celebrate the International Women’s day a programme on ‘Learnings on the Field: Experiences of Women Researchers” was organised on 8th March between 6.00 p.m. – 7.30pm. Two young women scholars were invited to share their experiences with around 40 participants who attended the programme.
The program started with a welcome address by Prof Rastogi who also played a video to inform the audience about the objectives of SEL. Dr Sweta Sinha, IIT Patna, shared her personal experiences as a field worker, and the strengths and challenges she faced on the field as a woman researcher. During her talk titled “A woman linguist’s story: From field to theory’, she shared her experiences as a woman researcher and discussed the methods followed by her. She also talked about the tools and technology she uses to collect and build a repository of linguistic data.
