On 17th August 2018, Prof. Atanu Saha, principal investigator, Centre of Endangered Languages, Jadavpur University conducted a full day workshop on ‘Language Documentation and Meta Data’ at the registered office of the society. Dr. Saha spoke to a small group of linguistics scholars demonstrating the necessity and importance of managing one’s data on and off the field. He said that metadata i.e. data about one’s data not only keeps important data safe but is also essential for researchers following up on the primary’s work to locate relevant information. Dr. Saha was given a token of appreciation on behalf of SEL by our President Dr. Kavita Rastogi, who was also a part of the day long workshop.
