About the Language

The Pahari language belongs to the family of Indo-Aryan languages that is a sub-branch of Indo-European languages. It is divided into eastern group and central northern group by Nigram. The data submitted here is from eastern group majorly from Poonch and Rajouri District, Jammu & Kashmir. Most of the Pahari speakers are multilingual and they can speak Hindi/ Urdu, English , Gikri and Kashmiri.
